Railserve Acquires Assets of Spring Ridge Rail Services; Forms Air Brake Services Division
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATLANTA, GA—August 30, 2011 (James Street Media Services)—Railserve, Inc., the leading North American provider of in-plant rail switching and associated services, has acquired inventory and production equipment from Spring Ridge Rail Services of Hughes Springs, Texas. With these additional resources, Railserve will form a new division to repair, rebuild and install air brake valves and air brake systems for freight locomotives.
Based in Hughes Springs, TX, Spring Ridge Rail Services has been owned by Johnny and Judy Davis for 19 years. Mr. Davis will join Railserve as director of the new Railserve Air Brake Services division, based in Longview, TX. Four additional employees from Spring Ridge will also join Railserve Air Brake Services.
Mr. Davis says, “Railserve has been doing exciting and innovative things in the marketplace—most notably with the development of the Railserve LEAF® (a fuel-efficient, gen-set locomotive)—and Railserve’s commitment to safety and customer service is impressive. I have enjoyed running my own successful business, and now I look forward to sharing my expertise with this solid and forward-thinking organization.”
“We are pleased to welcome Johnny to our team,” says Bobby Ross, Railserve senior vice president. “Spring Ridge customers can continue to expect the same high level of service that Johnny has always given them. At the same time, the acquisition fills a technical need for Railserve’s fleet of 170 locomotives. All this, plus Railserve’s leading position in the rail services industry, will provide a strong platform from which to grow this new division.”
