Anacostia Rail Holdings Appoints Michael Naatz as Chief Operating Officer
CHICAGO, IL—March 5, 2025 (James Street Media Services)—Anacostia Rail Holdings (ARH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Naatz as its Chief Operating Officer.
“Mike brings a strong supply chain background to our railroads,” says Peter A. Gilbertson, President and CEO. “His success in a broad range of transportation and logistics positions—and our previous experience with him as an industry peer—makes us confident in his ability to provide strategic leadership and execution that supports the needs of our customers and growth.”
Most recently Naatz was EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of Kansas City Southern (KCS). There, he led the company to strong growth. Prior to his CMO role, Mike was SVP, Operations Support and Chief Information Officer, where he led intermodal operations, mechanical, service design, and IT. Before joining KCS, he was president of YRC Holland, a division of YRC Worldwide (YRC). Prior to that he was YRC’s Chief Customer Officer, leading the sales, IT, customer service, pricing and quality teams. Naatz launched his career at Westvaco, a global packaging company.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Illinois. He earned a certificate in distribution management from DePaul University.
Naatz is a National Private Truck Council Certified Transportation Professional, Certified National Association of Corporate Directors Governance Fellow, and member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. He also previously served on the boards of the TTX Company and Railinc, where he was chairperson for the audit committees on both boards. He also served on the Board of Directors of KC SmartPort and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.
